DRC: Prophet Dr. Mulindwa Jules will Receive an International Peace Award on February 1, 2026

The African Observatory for Positive Recognition (AOPR/OASP), an international organization dedicated to the promotion of peace, human values, and positive leadership across Africa, has announced that Prophet Dr. Mulindwa Jules will be awarded an International Peace Prize on February 1, 2026.

The award ceremony will take place at City of Refuge Church in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to the organization, the decision was made by a jury composed of professors from various universities across Africa and beyond. The jury unanimously agreed to honor Prophet Dr. Mulindwa Jules for his outstanding contribution to peacebuilding, moral restoration, social cohesion, and human development, achieved through his religious leadership and teachings.

The announcement was officially made by the General Commissioner of the African Observatory for Positive Recognition, Professor Jacques André Muyeje, during a broadcast on Radio Okapi. In his address, Professor Muyeje invited all advocates of peace, reconciliation, and national unity to attend the ceremony at City of Refuge Church, located on Avenue By-pass No1 in Kinshasa.

“The jury of the African Observatory for Positive Recognition, composed of professors from different universities and known for having previously honored prominent personalities, has now reached a historic decision to bestow a prestigious International Peace Prize upon Prophet Dr. Mulindwa Jules,” Professor Muyeje stated.

“His commitment to peace, moral values, and social responsibility has had a remarkable impact on society.”

Since the launch of his ministry in 2009, Prophet Dr. Mulindwa Jules, founder and leader of City of Refuge Church (Mboka ya Ekimelo), has received numerous national distinctions recognizing his dedication to peace, reconciliation, and the promotion of ethical values through the Gospel. Now it’s time to be recognized internationally.

In less than four years since establishing his ministry in Kinshasa, the prophet has attracted more than 135,000 followers in the capital alone. His influence extends nationwide through teachings that many credit with transforming lives, restoring hope, and encouraging responsible citizenship. While some of his messages are sometimes perceived as controversial due to their direct and uncompromising nature, supporters view this frankness as a defining strength of his ministry.

City of Refuge Church is widely known for its revolutionary teachings, reported miracles, and its firm stance on supporting national stability by praying for public authorities rather than engaging in public criticism. This approach, according to the church leader, reflects their belief in promoting peace, order, and constructive engagement within society.

The upcoming award is expected to be a significant moment, not only for Prophet Dr. Mulindwa Jules and City of Refuge Church, but also for ongoing peace initiatives in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
