“Peace Beyond Guns”: Governor Luboya Applauds Prophet Mulindwa Jules’ Message

On Friday, March 27, 2026, a crucial meeting took place at the Ituri provincial governor’s office, where Prophet Mulindwa Jules, the supreme leader and founder of City of Refuge Church was received by Governor Lieutenant-General Luboya Nkashama Johnny. The meeting comes at a time when efforts to restore stability and strengthen social cohesion remain a top priority in this northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Speaking to the local press after the audience, Prophet Mulindwa Jules expressed gratitude for what he described as noticeable improvements in the province since the establishment of military administration. He also praised the governor’s leadership, particularly his role in fostering unity among communities.

“I thank God, and I sincerely thank the governor for the positive changes I have witnessed here in Ituri. He has shown a fatherly heart and leads without tribal bias,” the prophet stated. He went on to emphasize that tribalism has long been one of the major obstacles to the province’s development.

Delivering a strong message of social unity, the prophet urged communities to move beyond ethnic divisions, using relatable examples to highlight the futility of such conflicts. He questioned the logic behind tribal hatred, noting that in critical moments of life, such as medical emergencies or everyday social interactions people do not prioritize tribal identity.

“Why create conflict over tribes?” he asked. “When you need blood in a hospital, do you ask which tribe it comes from? When you meet a woman in a bar or night club, is tribe the first thing you consider? So why let it divide us?”

Addressing recent tensions, particularly between the Lengola and Mbole communities in Kisangani, Mulindwa Jules said he had personally called for calm and reconciliation. “I told them to stop. We all have one Father, God and we are all brothers and sisters,” he said, adding that this message of unity is central to his mission across the country, including in Ituri.

The prophet also delivered a direct appeal to young people, urging them to reject armed groups and instead take part in nation-building efforts. He warned that rebellion not only destroys communities but also robs the country of its future leaders.

“When the youth perish, the nation loses its future,” he said. “To those involved in rebellion, I beseech: come back, let us build this country together.”

For his part, Governor Luboya welcomed the prophet’s contribution to peacebuilding, describing it as complementary to ongoing government efforts in the region.

“The Head of State introduced the martial law to bring peace,” the governor explained. “What the prophet is doing supports this vision, but through a different approach. Military operation often comes with human losses, but a man of God brings peace through words, which strengthens the overall effort.”

He highlighted persistent divisions among certain local communities and expressed hope that the prophet’s message could help bridge those gaps. “If he succeeds in instilling a spirit of forgiveness and unity, it will be a great achievement. I fully support and encourage his mission,” he said.

However, the governor also voiced concern over the role of some religious and political leaders, accusing them of fueling division rather than promoting harmony. “It is unfortunate that some continue to cling to tribal interests and spread harmful messages. This is not what is expected from leaders, whether religious or political,” he added.

It is worth noting that Prophet Mulindwa Jules has declared 2026 as of peace and that remains the core of his message throughout the country in this very moment where Congo is going through tough period of invasion.
