Kolwezi: Prophet Mulindwa Jules Calls for Faith, Patriotism and Social Cohesion at Manika Stadium

Thousands of worshippers gathered at Manika Stadium in Kolwezi, the capital of Lualaba Province, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, for a religious gathering led by Prophet Dr. Mulindwa Jules, who called on Believers to uphold their faith, promote patriotism and foster peaceful coexistence.

The gathering brought together members of the Pentecostal Church Light of the World (EPLM) well known as Cité de Refuge, under the coordination of Apostle Daniel Mihiyo. Mulindwa and his delegation arrived in Kolwezi from Fungurume as part of his ongoing evangelical tour of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The event featured praise and worship, messages on Christ followers’ conduct and citizenship, and an appeal for unity amid social and political challenges facing the country.

Prophet Mulindwa: “I am only the donkey carrying Christ”

Addressing the congregation, Mulindwa expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from worshippers in Kolwezi.

The gathering also featured a presentation ceremony during which Apostle Daniel Mihiyo gifted the prophet a new TX Jeep.

In his sermon, Mulindwa Jules emphasized humility, reminding believers that the spiritual work attributed to religious leaders ultimately comes from Christ.

“In this world, I have no title; I am only the donkey carrying Christ. The one who heals the sick, delivers the possessed and restores lives is Christ, not me,” he said.

He also spoke about what he described as the invisible crown possessed by every child of God, warning that sin can deprive believers of their spiritual standing.

His message placed Christ at the center of biblical faith while urging worshippers to remain conscious of their spiritual responsibilities.

Patriotism and respect for public authority

Mulindwa also addressed the relationship between Christian faith and civic responsibility, urging believers to respect established authorities and pray for the country’s institutions, including the president.

He cited Romans 13:1-4, a biblical passage concerning submission to governing authorities, to support his message.

The prophet further encouraged Believers to demonstrate their love for the Democratic Republic of Congo through patriotism and responsible citizenship.

On constitutional matters, Mulindwa urged his followers to support changes to the country’s current constitution, which he described as a “permanent threat to the country.” He argued that the constitutional framework had shortcomings and questioned its origins.

His remarks introduced a political dimension to the gathering, alongside the event’s religious message. Mulindwa Jules also warned worshippers about what he described as the growing presence of false prophets, particularly those whose conduct contradicts the values they profess. He urged Believers to exercise discernment, citing Matthew 7:15, which warns believers to beware of false prophets.

Provincial official calls for unity and development

Representing Lualaba Governor Fifi Masuka Saini, provincial minister Kayinda Kasela, who oversees health, gender, family and children, welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude to God for the event.

She reaffirmed the provincial authorities’ commitment to the development of Lualaba and the well-being of its population, in line with the vision of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi.

“We are children of God and must do everything in the spirit of love for our country, social cohesion and harmony,” she said.

Her remarks reinforced one of the central themes of the gathering: the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence among citizens.

A call for peaceful coexistence

Returning to the theme of national unity, Mulindwa urged worshippers to uphold moral values, fraternity and peaceful coexistence.

He also called on his followers to stand behind President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, arguing that national solidarity was necessary to counter division and hatred.

Throughout the gathering, the prophet linked biblical values with the responsibilities of citizenship, encouraging believers to contribute to peace and harmony within Congolese society.

Worshippers surprised as prophet declines offerings

One of the gathering’s most notable moments came when Mulindwa Jules asked worshippers to return home with the money they had set aside for offerings.

The decision echoed similar gestures during his recent appearances in Lubumbashi and Likasi, where he also told congregants to keep their money rather than give it as offerings. Explaining his position in Kolwezi, Mulindwa said his purpose was to preach Christ rather than collect money.

“I did not come to seek money, but I have carried Christ on my back, because He is the source of salvation, deliverance and all restoration,” he said.

The announcement surprised members of the congregation, many of whom had gathered for the religious meeting.

The refusal of offerings became a defining moment of the event, reinforcing the prophet’s stated emphasis on the spiritual purpose of his evangelical tour.

The gathering at Manika Stadium brought together several themes that have featured throughout Mulindwa’s evangelical tour: faith, respect for public authority, patriotism and peaceful coexistence.

His message combined calls for spiritual discipline with views on the country’s political direction, while his decision to decline offerings drew particular attention from worshippers.

As the evangelical tour continues, the Kolwezi gathering adds another stop to a series of public religious meetings that have attracted large congregations across the former great Katanga region.
