DRC: “Take Your Offering Money and Buy Food for My Grandchildren” Prophet Mulindwa Jules Surprises Worshippers in Lubumbashi

In a surprising statement made on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Prophet Mulindwa Jules asked worshippers attending his gathering at Kibasa Maliba Stadium in Lubumbashi not to give offerings, saying he had not come to Katanga to seek money.

“I did not come to Katanga to look for money. The money you brought today for the offering, take it back and buy food for grandchildren. You will not give offerings today,” he told the congregation gathered at Kibasa Maliba Stadium.

The unusual announcement placed the needs of families at the center of his message. While offerings play an important role in many religious gatherings, the prophet encouraged worshippers to use the money they had intended to give to meet their children’s basic needs instead.

Beyond the surprise surrounding his words, the statement highlights an approach to ministry in which the well-being of worshippers extends beyond spiritual concerns alone. It draws attention to the everyday realities facing families, particularly their ability to afford basic necessities.

His message appeared to emphasize that spiritual ministry should not cause people to overlook the material difficulties they face. For families struggling to make ends meet, feeding their children is an immediate necessity that deserves serious consideration.

The gesture also reflects a vision of ministry centered on accompanying people through their struggles, praying for their deliverance and healing, and addressing their spiritual needs without losing sight of their human circumstances. From this perspective, preaching, prayer and spiritual guidance are meant to serve people rather than become disconnected from the challenges they face in everyday life.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the role of money in some religious communities is occasionally debated, such a statement is likely to attract attention. The prophet’s decision challenges the expectation that worshippers must necessarily contribute financially at every religious gathering.

Prophet Mulindwa Jules is expected to spend one month touring the former Greater Katanga region. During his stay, he plans to visit several cities, including Lubumbashi, Kolwezi, Likasi, Kasumbalesa and Fungurume.

His visit to southeastern DRC forms part of a wider evangelical tour through which worshippers in different cities will have opportunities to attend the scheduled spiritual gatherings.
