Likasi: Prophet Dr Mulindwa Jules Draws Huge Crowd at Mapinduzi Stadium

Thousands of worshippers gathered at Mapinduzi Stadium in Likasi on Sunday October 18, 2026 to hear Prophet Dr Mulindwa Jules, who is currently conducting an evangelical tour of the Haut-Katanga Province. The gathering, coordinated by Apostle Roland Kabala, brought together members of the City of Refuge Church for a day of preaching, prayer and civic messages.

Addressing the crowd, the prophet described himself as a humble servant of Christ, saying:

“I am just a donkey carrying Christ on my back. I assure you that Christ loves you and wants nothing but your salvation and happiness.”

Breaking Spiritual Barriers Through Faith

Prophet Mulindwa Jules urged worshippers to examine their spiritual lives and seek forgiveness for their sins, which he described as an obstacle to experiencing God’s glory.

He also called on believers to abandon practices he associates with colonial-era and traditional religious beliefs, including idol worship, the veneration of the dead and compulsory fasting. He emphasized that God the Father, Christ the Lord and the Holy Spirit dwell within believers through faith. The prophet further declared that this divine presence offers protection against illness, poverty, infertility and demonic forces. Referring to Luke 10:19, he encouraged worshippers to recognize their spiritual authority and remain steadfast in the face of adversity.

Peace, Good Citizenship and National Unity

Moving beyond spiritual matters, Mulindwa Jules called on the people of Likasi to respect the country’s established institutions and legally recognized authorities, from President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi to local leaders.

He also urged Congolese citizens to pray for their leaders and promote peaceful coexistence among the country’s major communities, including the Bakongo, Baswahili, Bangala and Baluba.

His message centered on national unity, civic responsibility and the importance of maintaining peace amid the country’s political and social challenges.

Constitutional Change Enters the Conversation

The prophet also addressed the debate surrounding the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Constitution, which emerged from the Sun City peace process. He advocated for constitutional change through a referendum, presenting it as an issue requiring national attention. His remarks, delivered in Swahili, were met with an enthusiastic response from the audience, although the extent of support for the proposal was not independently established.

A Surprising Message on Offerings

One of the gathering’s unexpected moments came when Mulindwa Jules told worshippers they could take home the money they had brought for offerings and use it to meet their household needs.

The gesture echoed his approach at Kibasa Maliba Stadium in Lubumbashi a week earlier, where he also surprised worshippers by declining to collect offerings.

At Mapinduzi Stadium, the message added another dimension to a gathering marked by religious fervor, calls for national unity and discussions about the country’s future.
