On Sunday, June 1, 2025, an atmosphere of curiosity and anticipation filled the grounds of Cité de Refuge Church in Kinshasa. A large crowd, some of whom had travelled from far away, had gathered to attend the Sunday service and, above all, to uncover the mystery behind a practice that had long been the subject of rumors: deliverance through a padlock.
Amid powerful songs and fervent prayers, Prophet Mulindwa Jules, visionary and founder of the rapidly growing spiritual community, stepped onto the altar, Bible in hand and a determined look on his face. Faced with whispers and criticism that had for years described the practice as superstition or manipulation, he chose that particular day to break his silence and offer everyone a clear, detailed explanation deeply rooted in his faith.
“Many people talk without knowing…” he said in a deep voice, immediately capturing everyone’s attention. Through his testimony and explanations, he sought to remind the congregation that beyond the simple object known as a padlock lies a powerful symbol: the definitive closing of the doors through which the devil enters people’s lives, bringing blockages, curses, and invisible forms of oppression.
For some skeptics, however, it remains a meaningless gesture. But for the thousands of believers who testify to having experienced deliverance after this particular prayer, the padlock represents far more than an accessory: it becomes the seal of their regained freedom, a tangible sign that no chain can continue to hold them captive to darkness.
By speaking out that day, Prophet Mulindwa did more than respond to his critics. He rekindled in many hearts the faith in a God capable of breaking every visible or invisible prison and sealing victory over adversity once and for all.
A Story Revealed “Spiritually”
According to Prophet Mulindwa Jules, the practice of deliverance through a padlock did not come from his imagination. He says it was revealed to him directly by God through a profound vision, which he recounts in the form of a powerful parable.
It all begins in ancient times, in a distant, prosperous, and respected kingdom. The young king of this kingdom, crowned at an early age by the will of his ancestors and God, was expected to choose a queen worthy of the title. After much consideration, his heart settled on Chanceline, a young woman from the common people who was known throughout the kingdom for her radiant beauty, exceptional gentleness, and, above all, her impeccable values.
Chanceline thus became queen, loved by the people and cherished by the king. Her smile calmed disputes, and her kindness inspired even the kingdom’s toughest warriors. But behind this perfect harmony, a tragedy was already taking shape, fueled by jealousy, witchcraft, and betrayal.
Since childhood, Chanceline had had a very close friend, a lifelong confidante who was almost like a sister. They had shared everything: their most intimate secrets, their childhood laughter, their teenage tears, and even their dreams of marriage. When Chanceline became queen, she remained faithful to their friendship. She opened every door to her friend, even allowing her to enter the royal bedroom freely, the most sacred place in the royal couple’s life.
But what Chanceline saw as a sign of trust became an unbearable temptation for her friend. Every glance she cast at the king and every laugh shared by the royal couple fueled a dark fire in the heart of this woman who remained unmarried. Jealousy gradually devoured the sisterly love she had once felt for Chanceline until it turned into a terrible poison: the desire to take her place.
While Chanceline, pure of heart, suspected nothing, her friend was secretly plotting a diabolical plan to steal not only the queen’s trust but also the king’s love, the crown, and the entire kingdom.
The Plot and the Cursed Padlock
Blinded by her desire, Chanceline’s friend took an irreversible step: she secretly went to a renowned traditional healer, ready to manipulate dark forces against her friend in exchange for a few gold coins. She entered the man’s dark hut, her heart pounding and jealousy coursing through her veins like poison.
“Master…” she said in a trembling voice, “I envy my friend’s household too much. She has become the queen of this kingdom… and I can no longer stand seeing her happy with the king. I want her to disappear, to go so far away that no one will ever find her again, so that I can take her place beside him. Tell me what I must do!”
The old man, with his gray beard and dark eyes, stared at her for a long moment before replying in a hissing voice: “For what you are asking, there is a price. Give me your gold and bring me a padlock. With this padlock, I will seal her fate.”
Without hesitation, she emptied her purse onto the mat and hurried to find a new padlock. When she returned, the traditional healer placed the open padlock in front of her, on a mat covered with black powders and occult symbols.
“Now, speak everything you desire against your friend. Pour the venom of your heart onto this padlock, and I will seal her destiny.”
Breathing heavily, the traitor brought her lips close to the open padlock.
“You, Chanceline… I want you to go mad! I want you to wander far from the palace so that the king will never think of you again. Let your name be erased from everyone’s heart! Disappear, go to the ends of the earth, and never return!”
As she spoke, the traditional healer murmured incantations. When she had finished stating her wishes, he took the still-open padlock, looked directly into the woman’s eyes, and snapped it shut with a sharp click, thereby sealing the queen’s fate.
After completing the ritual, he gave her one final warning, his voice echoing like a curse itself:
“Take this padlock and throw it somewhere no one will ever find it. For the day someone discovers it and opens it, everything you have said will turn against you, and Chanceline will be set free. And remember this well: your eyes must never meet hers. If you ever see each other face to face, her madness will end and you will be the one to lose your mind. Now go! And carry your burden until the end of your days…”
Trembling, she took the cursed padlock into the night, convinced that she had finally destroyed her friend forever.
Haunted by the fear that her crime might one day be discovered, Chanceline’s wicked friend returned to the traditional healer.
“Master… can I throw it into one of the village toilets?” she asked in a trembling voice.
The old man slowly shook his head, a sinister smile appearing on his face.
“No, foolish girl… A toilet can be emptied and cleaned. One day, someone might find it and open the padlock. No! Throw it into the deep waters of a river, where no human hand will ever find it. That way, your secret will sleep forever beneath the currents.”
Following his advice, she waited until nightfall and, alone, threw the enchanted padlock into the largest river far from the kingdom. The very moment the metal touched the dark water, the curse fell upon Queen Chanceline.
Inside her royal chamber, the young sovereign suddenly felt a violent dizziness. Screams echoed in her head, her memories became blurred, and her once-clear eyes clouded with madness. Before the guards could understand what was happening, Chanceline, dazed, fled the palace barefoot and alone into the darkness of the night, disappearing into the forest like a breath of wind.
At dawn, no one could explain her disappearance. The king, devastated by grief, searched throughout the kingdom, ordering every village and hamlet to be searched. Nothing. Not a clue. Not a witness. His beloved queen had vanished, and with her disappeared the dream of an heir who would secure the royal lineage.
What no one knew, not even the king, was that Chanceline was already carrying new life within her: a little prince, the fruit of a pure love, but destined to be born far from the throne.
Meanwhile, the treacherous friend remained in the palace and knew how to take advantage of the king’s vulnerability. With demonic patience, she filled every void left by the missing queen. Every morning, she prepared steaming coffee for him. Every evening, she took care of his clothes and offered soothing words to calm his tears. She became his confidante, his pillar, and his comfort in the face of his absence.
Little by little, the king grew tired of searching for his lost wife and became convinced that she would never return. Believing that she had left behind neither an heir nor any hope, he eventually gave in. The disloyal friend thus took her place on Chanceline’s throne, savoring every moment of the luxury and power she had stolen.
Meanwhile, the true queen wandered somewhere far away, imprisoned by madness and the cruel spell that had been sealed with a simple padlock.
A Fallen Queen, but an Unconquerable Mother
Time passed, and the injustice continued to consume the kingdom.
Despite all her efforts to play the role of queen, Chanceline’s usurper could never give the king an heir. No sorcerer and no secret prayer could grant her what she had stolen from her best friend: motherhood.
The emptiness of the royal cradle gradually became a chasm for the entire kingdom. Without a prince or princess, hope faded from the hearts of the people. Harvests declined, prosperity disappeared, and whispers spread:
“Since the true queen disappeared, the curse has been consuming us…”
Meanwhile, far from the throne, the rightful queen, Chanceline, walked barefoot, dressed in rags, her eyes vacant and her memories swallowed by the fog of madness. She wandered from street to street, pregnant without even knowing that she carried the fruit of the love she had shared with the king.
In an abandoned construction site, under the rain, without a midwife or blanket, she gave birth to a baby boy. Alone beneath the silent moon, she held him against her chest and hummed a song that, despite her broken memory, seemed never to have left her.
The years passed. The child grew up lively and curious despite his poverty. He became friends with other boys his age, playing in dusty streets far from the palace whose throne actually belonged to him.
By one of those coincidences that only providence can weave, the son of a generous man, a good Samaritan in the neighborhood, became his inseparable playmate. Seeing the boy, who unknowingly was a prince, running barefoot in rags, the father said to his son one evening:
“My boy, I often see you playing with the son of that poor madwoman. Go tell him that I will pay for his education. Let him come to school with you. At least give him a chance to become a man.”
The message was delivered like a ray of light in the darkness. The child ran to his mother to tell her the good news. But Chanceline, trapped in her fragmented world, did not fully understand. She simply smiled when she saw her son happy and nodded, unable to imagine that her royal blood would soon be sitting on a school bench.
Very quickly, the little boy had clean clothes, a new schoolbag, and notebooks that he held to his chest like treasures. Chanceline, sitting on an old sidewalk, watched him leave every morning with a smile on her face, lost in madness but filled with a mother’s love purer than that of many crowned queens.
Yet poverty and the cruelty of the world continued to torment her.
One dark night, a man who belonged to a satanic lodge obsessed with sacrifices and power brutally raped her, believing that violating a mentally ill woman would open the doors to an occult promotion.
Broken and traumatized, Chanceline became pregnant again. Several months later, amid garbage and rusted sheets of metal, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, as though the royal bloodline itself refused to die. When the good Samaritan saw Chanceline with a new born again, a deep sadness gripped his heart. He wondered with helpless anger:
“Who could have committed such an atrocity?”
But despite everything, despite her madness, despite the dirt, despite her visible and invisible wounds, Chanceline remained a mother above all else. She protected her son and daughter like a wounded wolf guarding its cubs, determined that even in darkness and mud, they would retain some dignity and love.
The years passed like a dream that nothing could awaken.
Thanks to the faithful friendship between her son and the generous man’s son, Chanceline’s first child continued his education without lacking anything. The two boys, who had become like brothers, supported each other through every stage of life, transforming the dirty streets of their childhood into memories of a bygone past.
Seeing the young man’s hard work and intelligence, the patron decided to extend his generosity:
“If God has allowed me to educate this boy, then his sister should not be left behind. She too deserves a better life.”
Thus, Chanceline’s daughter, born from the trauma of rape, also entered school, for the first time in her life wearing clean clothes and enjoying the dignity of an education.
The seasons changed, examinations came and went, and the harvest was good. Chanceline’s son earned his university degree, a certificate of victory wrested from the grip of the curse.
With his new status, he decided to take the first step in giving back to the woman who, even though broken, had never stopped loving him: he had his mother admitted to a psychiatric hospital, hoping that science could finally heal what witchcraft had bound.
Meanwhile, Chanceline’s daughter, now a beautiful university student, attracted everyone’s attention. Her brother and his lifelong friend remained as close as ever.
One evening, during a private conversation, the patron’s son shared his wish:
“My friend, your little sister is a rare gem. When she finishes her studies, I would like to ask her to marry me.”
Her brother smiled. Everything they had received from this family deserved to be sealed by love.
But far from these pure intentions, the young woman, heavily influenced by some of her classmates, gradually fell into the temptations of high-end prostitution. Without knowing it, the daughter of a queen was trading her royal blood in the dark rooms of luxury hotels for a few banknotes.
And fate, cruel and mysterious, led her one evening to meet a wealthy and influential man whose soul was rotten.
It was none other than her biological father, the very man who had raped Chanceline years earlier.
The man, now a confirmed member of a satanic lodge, had made a habit of sacrificing, after using them, the young women he paid large sums of money to, in order to gain greater occult power.
But that night, something inside him broke.
When he looked at the young woman, an unfamiliar feeling pierced his heart: an inexplicable protective instinct and a love he could not understand. In the hotel room, the young woman, eager to finish quickly and collect her money, whispered:
“Why aren’t you touching me? All night you’ve just been looking at me… We haven’t done anything, and you still want to give me money?”
The man, his voice trembling, replied without daring to meet her eyes:
“I can’t. There is something about you… something that prevents me from doing it. I feel a love for you that has no name. I don’t want you for one night. I would like… to marry you someday.”
Had he known that she was his own daughter, he would have collapsed under the weight of remorse. But, according to the story, God in His mercy prevented the unthinkable from happening.
That night, no blood pact was sealed, and no additional burden was placed upon Chanceline’s already suffering family.
The Secret of the Lodge Revealed
Inside the satanic lodge, while the other members boasted about carrying out their sinister work, seducing, abusing, and then sacrificing young female students to satisfy their thirst for power, he alone had failed to go through with it.
This wealthy and influential member of the dark circle, once merciless, found himself unable to touch the young woman he had chosen. He did not understand why, but every time he looked at her, a sincere and inexplicable love paralyzed his darkest instincts.
But the lodge’s law was absolute.
The Grand Master, a man colder than death itself, summoned the reluctant member and gave him a terrifying ultimatum:
“If you do not sacrifice her before the full moon, know that you will be the one to die, and so will the girl for whom you dare to defy our orders.”
Kneeling before the master, he pleaded:
“Let me choose another one, ten others if necessary! But spare this one… I love her. I cannot do it!”
But behind his icy laughter, the Grand Master knew the truth: this girl was the child born from the rape his servant had committed against a mentally ill woman named Chanceline. He alone possessed this diabolical secret, which he kept as his ultimate weapon.
Meanwhile, time was running out.
Young female students were disappearing one after another, and their disappearances fueled rumors of an invisible evil haunting the city.
Consumed by fear of losing his own life and the life of the woman he loved in this forbidden way, the man made a radical decision.
One night, in a hotel room bathed in dim light, he confessed everything to the young woman:
“Listen to me, I beg you. I am not simply a wealthy man… I am a member of a lodge, and I have been ordered to sacrifice you. If I don’t do it, they will kill me. And they will kill you too. But I cannot touch you… I cannot hurt you. Come, let’s run away together… Let’s go to church and find a man of God who can deliver us.”
Terrified by the revelation, the young woman began to tremble violently. Tears streamed down her face.
Seeing that she was about to scream, he took her in his arms, almost carried her to the car, and sped away without looking back.
They arrived, breathless, at the home of a true man of God, where a major deliverance service was taking place.
The pastor immediately began interceding. The demons controlling the man and binding the young woman manifested violently, in the same way demons are said to manifest during deliverance services at Cité de Refuge Church.
Suddenly, the truth emerged through the cries of the tormented spirits:
“Yes! This man raped a madwoman, Queen Chanceline… This girl is his child… He wanted to sacrifice his own blood without knowing it!”
A heavy silence fell.
The young woman screamed in agony upon hearing the horrifying revelation: the man she thought she loved as a protector was actually her biological father, the man who had destroyed her mother.
Unable to remain standing, she collapsed to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. The man, broken, also wept and beat his chest:
“Forgive me! I didn’t know… I was blinded by the devil… Forgive me, my daughter!”
But the young woman, overwhelmed by shame and shock, screamed:
“I cannot forgive you! You destroyed my mother, you ruined my life… I cannot!”
The pastor, his voice filled with compassion, placed his hand on her head:
“My daughter, listen to me… Look at what God has done: if he had touched you that night, you would be dead today, sacrificed like so many others. But by His grace, you came here in time. The devil has been defeated. Now forgiveness is your ultimate weapon to break this yoke and bring your family back into the light. Forgive him, my daughter…”
Amid her sobs and gasps, the young woman slowly raised her eyes and looked at her father, whose face was filled with remorse and tears. A long, heavy sigh escaped her chest.
“I forgive you… but never again… I never want to see you again.”
The Padlock Is Found
That very evening, in their small home a few kilometers from the river, the fisherman returned with a radiant face and a basket overflowing with fish.
But only one mattered: a gigantic catfish, larger than anything he had ever pulled from the water.
Proud as a king, he called his wife cheerfully:
“Come and look, sweetheart! Today we’re dancing for good fortune!”
They placed the fish on the table, walked around it, and, carried away by simple and pure joy, began dancing like two children beneath the moon.
After the dance, the woman, breathless but curious, asked:
“But tell me, darling, what exactly are we dancing for? You’re not hiding anything from me, are you? Did you steal from someone? You came home late…”
The fisherman burst out laughing and threw a bundle of banknotes onto the table.
“Steal? Never! Look! I sold all the other fish for a price you wouldn’t believe! And the biggest one, I’m giving to you for our feast.”
Happy, the woman began gutting the large fish.
Suddenly, her knife struck something hard.
Frowning, she reached into the slimy belly and, to her astonishment, pulled out… a padlock covered in residue and aged by years in the water.
She cried out in fear:
“My husband, come and see this quickly! Did this fish swallow a piece of iron?”
The fisherman shrugged.
“Ahh… you too! Those catfish swallow anything that shines. Let me see.”
As a joke, without thinking, he turned the rusty key that was still stuck in the lock.
CLICK!
The padlock sprang open with a sharp crack, like a muffled clap of thunder.
At that very moment, inside a psychiatric hospital, Chanceline, who had spent years receiving injections and medical treatment, suddenly opened her eyes, clear as they had been on the first day.
The nurse, preparing to inject her, suddenly froze when the patient firmly grabbed her wrist.
“Stop that right now! Who are you to dare inject me with anything? I am not crazy! I am Queen Chanceline, wife of the King, sovereign of the kingdom! Where is my husband? Where is my palace? Who locked me up here?”
Her firm and powerful voice echoed throughout the room.
The nurse, terrified, dropped the syringe.
Other medical staff rushed in, stunned. The “madwoman” spoke with astonishing precision, giving details about the royal court, her servants, the royal bedroom, and the first night of her marriage, details that, according to the story, only the real queen could have known.
The hospital authorities quickly searched the archives and connected her identity to the case of the missing queen who had supposedly disappeared without leaving an heir.
The medical team immediately alerted the local authorities. Then, on the chief physician’s instructions, they contacted the relatives identified in her file:
- Her eldest son, the young prince who had suffered so much for her;
- Her younger daughter, beautiful and still shaken by the recent revelation about her origins;
- And the man, once her mother’s rapist, now freed from his satanic lodge through deliverance at the church, the young woman’s biological father.
All three rushed to the psychiatric center, their hearts pounding with emotion and fear.
When they entered the room, they found Chanceline sitting upright, her head held high, her eyes as clear as they had been on the first day.
“My son… my daughter… you came!”
A solemn silence filled the room.
The daughter burst into tears and threw herself into her mother’s arms.
The son fell to his knees, kissing the queen’s hands at last.
The man, broken by shame over his past crime, remained at a distance, trembling.
“Queen Chanceline… I… forgive me…”
Chanceline looked at him intensely.
“You too, I forgive. Because the evil you sowed brought forth the most beautiful fruit: my daughter.”
Before the astonished doctors, the queen extended her hand to everyone, bringing them together in an embrace that no curse could ever break again.
Queen Chanceline Returns to Her Husband’s Kingdom
From the fateful day when the king had begun sharing his bed with the usurper, the woman who had once been Chanceline’s confidante, the entire kingdom had plunged into misery.
His body gradually weakened, his eyes lost their light, and his days became nothing more than a slow agony on a silk bed that had turned into a tomb.
The people, overwhelmed with despair, whispered that the king would die without an heir and that the blessed royal lineage would come to an end.
But then, one morning, before the great gates of the Royal Palace, a frail, weathered figure appeared, accompanied by two radiant young faces and several witnesses from her broken past.
It was Chanceline herself, returning from the darkness, bringing with her the truth and the promise of new life.
The palace’s oldest guards, who had once watched over her royal splendor, recognized her immediately despite her impoverished clothing and the marks left by years of suffering.
At first they stood frozen, speechless. Then they fell to their knees and cried out together:
“Long live Her Majesty Chanceline!”
Overcome with emotion, they rushed to alert the Prime Minister, the devoted guardian of the throne. But the Prime Minister, exhausted by years of false rumors, initially dismissed their words with a sharp gesture.
“Enough nonsense! You all know that our king has become a shadow of his former self because he lost his beloved wife… and you dare disturb his grief with fairy tales? Do you want to hasten his death?”
But the guards insisted, swearing on their lives that the woman standing before the palace gates was indeed the queen.
Intrigued, the minister hurried toward her. When he saw Chanceline with his own eyes, he was overwhelmed and fell to his knees.
“Long live, O Mother of the Kingdom!”
Without delay, the Prime Minister ran as fast as he could toward the royal chamber.
On his way, he brushed past the usurper, who was sitting nearby, watching every movement of power.
Furious, she stopped him and spat:
“Idiot! We are mourning the king’s condition, and you dare run around like a madman?”
But the minister, overcome with joy, pushed past her, entered the royal chamber, and bowed deeply.
“Your Majesty… Your Majesty! I bring light to your eyes and balm to your wounded heart: our Queen has returned, and with her… your children, the blood of your blood!”
The king, who had spent years confined to his bed, heard the blessed name “Chanceline” and a spark of life suddenly passed through his weakened body.
He sat upright, his voice trembling.
“Repeat… Repeat what I have just heard.”
“Our Queen is alive! She is here, at the palace gates!”
Then, as though touched by a divine breath, the king leapt from his bed. He demanded that his royal clothes be brought to him and staggered toward the great hall, supported by the minister. The farther he walked, the more his strength seemed to return.
At the first words spoken by Chanceline, gentle and clear:
“Long live, my King!”
His eyes, which witchcraft had supposedly sealed shut, opened once again.
A cry of joy broke the silence.
The king, weeping, embraced his queen with his beating heart, covering her with kisses and tears.
He immediately ordered the finest beauty treatments to be brought to her, commanded that she be dressed in her sacred royal ornaments, and ordered a celebration worthy of the ancestors.
But behind a column, the usurper, the woman who had destroyed the crown through her betrayal, watched the scene, burning with hatred.
Unable to believe what she was seeing, she left the palace to see the truth with her own eyes.
But the moment her gaze met Chanceline’s, the second condition of her evil pact broke like glass beneath a hammer.
Her pupils rolled back, foam appeared at her mouth, and with a demonic scream, she confessed everything before the witnesses:
“It was me! I stole her place! I made the king blind! I cursed this throne!”
Overcome with panic, she tore off her jewelry, ripped her dress, and began running naked through the palace courtyard, repeatedly striking her head against the marble columns.
The king, standing once again in majesty despite the years he had lost, thundered:
“Chain her and drive her out of the kingdom! Let her receive the sentence she wanted for my queen: let her perish beneath the stones of the people she deceived!”
That evening, songs, drums, banquets, and dancing filled the entire kingdom.
The people celebrated the restoration of justice, the salvation of the royal lineage, and a love stronger than death.
The devil’s padlock had been broken.
Truth had reclaimed its throne.
The Spiritual Meaning of the Padlock
Through this powerful story, Prophet Mulindwa Jules seeks to demonstrate a deep spiritual truth: some invisible chains, inherited from occult covenants or ancestral curses, cannot always be broken by words alone but may sometimes require a powerful symbolic act, in this case, opening a padlock.
“The padlock represents the occult act that sealed an unjust destiny,” the Prophet explains. “Opening this padlock during prayer is an act of releasing that destiny.”
He further explains:
“Many people are bound by words and covenants they know nothing about. Deliverance through the padlock makes it possible to break these spiritual ties and restore what has been stolen.”
For his followers, testimonies are abundant: families reunited, sick people healed, and spirits set free after this unusual ritual.
For them, it is neither a masquerade nor superstition, but a spiritual reality that operates where human logic reaches its limits.
Yet the padlock continues to generate curiosity and, at times, skepticism.
Some observers denounce what they describe as a form of “mystical theatricalization,” while others see it, at its core, as a form of spiritual psychotherapy that provides an outlet for troubled souls.
But for Cité de Refuge Church, the essential point is not the controversy. What matters, they say, is the chains that fall, the hearts that forgive, and the lives that regain meaning.
Every June 30, a date of great symbolic importance marking national independence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Prophet Mulindwa Jules holds a major “deliverance through the padlock” ceremony.
Believers and curious visitors reportedly travel from across the country to receive what they describe as total freedom, beyond political or religious discourse.
And for those who still have doubts, the Prophet always issues the same challenge:
“Come and see with your own eyes. You will judge for yourselves.”
